Concorde Bank Limited (CBL), an established international bank, is seeking an experienced individual to undertake the role of Risk & Compliance Analyst. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting with the implementation and management of the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Management and Internal Controls framework, with specific responsibility for mitigating compliance risks and preserving the bank’s integrity. The role necessitates a detail-oriented individual adept at managing multiple compliance frameworks while bolstering risk management functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily responsibilities: Know Your Customer (KYC) activities; facilitating requests from regulatory bodies, other authorized external authorities and external and internal audit compliance examinations; addressing AML/CFT/CPF related queries/questionnaires/assessment received from regulatory bodies, Corresponding Banks and appropriate third parties (Example: SWIFT) within stipulated timeframes.
- Prepare or review internal suspicious or unusual transaction reports and client risk assessments.
- Perform/Review sanctions screening for all incoming and outgoing transfers and daily transaction monitoring to mitigate AML/CFT/CPF risks.
- Execute compliance reviews and inspections and monitor the internal and external environments to ensure CBL remains compliant with all relevant Laws, Regulations, Codes, Acts, Guidance Notes, policies and procedures issued/adopted by regulators, the Board and Management.
- Keep abreast of changes in the AML/CFT/CPF landscape, including industry best practice for policies, procedures, process and system capabilities, criminal typologies and developing trends. Monitor and review developments and/or changes in/to domestic AML/KYC-related laws, regulations and codes and advise on the impact, if any, to CBL operations.
- Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly monitoring reports on client and institutional account activities.
- Support Department Head in reviewing and enhancing CBL’s operational framework including governance and internal controls: Ongoing assessment of the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, systems and controls, adopting a collaborative and risk-based approach with stakeholders to identify and reduce gaps.
- Support risk management activities by performing risk assessment duties within the bank’s operations, including:
- Assisting in identifying and evaluating operational, financial, and strategic risks.
- Supporting the implementation of risk mitigation strategies and policies.
- Provide input for the risk assessment process and report on risk exposures.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure a cohesive risk management approach.
- Prepare monthly and/or quarterly risk and compliance reports for consideration by Senior Management.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or other related area
- A recognized designation in Compliance, Risk Management or Audit would be an asset.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience in a similar or related job function within the banking or financial services industry, demonstrating personal responsibility for assigned projects and reviews.
- Strong understanding of Barbados banking regulations and international compliance standards.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in risk assessment tools and compliance software.
